Hi, I'm David Schmoll. I started out as a full-time professional musician in 1978. Since then, I've worked with all sorts of equipment, playing all types of music, both live and in the studio. In 1996, I began working with improv and sketch comedy groups. I took a deep dive into music for comedy, and found a whole new way of thinking about how music works.

Since then, I've produced songs for Late Night with Seth Meyers and Fox ADHD, I've done scoring to picture, voiceovers, and mixdown/mastering for video.

In addition, I recently collaborated with Amber Ruffin and Lauren Van Kurin, composing the music and producing the backing tracks for King Of Kong, A Musical Parody. This show was awarded the winner of Sacred Fools "Best Serial Killers" of 2013; Best Overall Musical at the 2014 New York Fringe Festival; and Best Songwriting at the 2015 Hollywood Fringe Festival.

I also work with songwriters, helping them realize their creative vision, and with singers who need backing tracks for their performances. But whatever I'm doing, I'm at my best when I'm collaborating with other creative people with the goal of making something we can all be proud of. Want to know more? Send me an email! Let's collaborate and make something awesome!
